The Linking Energy Tai Chi Program is a comprehensive program where students progress through six levels. Levels 1-3
can be learned in a group class or private lessons but the advanced levels 4-6 must be completed with private lessons.  In
levels 1-3 students can focus on one style of Tai Chi or learn forms from different Tai Chi styles in order to get a better
understanding of Tai Chi.  In the advanced levels 4-6 the student must choose either the Yang or Sun style.  For Levels 1-3
there is a $50 fee which covers a one hour review of the level and the certificate if the student passes. For Level 4 to 6
there is a $250 fee which covers a two hour review, a written test and certificate if the student passes.

Level 3:  Group Class Program
Level 4:  Advanced Program
Level 5:  Advanced Program
Level 6:  Senior Advanced Program

Instructor Certification:
There are three levels of certified instructors - Group Instructor, Advanced Instructor and Senior Instructor.    

Group Instructor:
After successfully completing the Level 3 student certification, the student can apply to become a Certified Group
Instructor.  The student must then learn the remaining forms from each of the three levels.  The Group Instructor has
completed the education requirements to teach beginning Tai Chi to students in the most common form, which is the group
class.  Trained instructors are needed to fill the growing need to teach group classes in senior centers, churches,
community centers, colleges, hospitals and large corporations.  
Requirements:
  • Must be student certified in Levels 1-3.
  • Must learn the additional forms for each level.
  • Must pass a written exam.
  • Must have one year of training minimum.
  • Must demonstrate teaching a Tai Chi form in a group class.
  • Must pass a one hour review of Level 1-3.
  • Must be CPR and First Aid Certified.
  • Must pay a $150.00 fee which covers all testing and the certificate.

Level 4 and 5 Advanced Instructor:
After successfully completing level 4 and level 5 as a student, the Certified Group Instructor can complete additional
requirement to become a certified instructor of level 4 and 5 and teach and certify students up to their level.  Level 4 and up
Instructors can certify Group Instructors as well as certify instructors up to the level below their certification. Level 5
Instructors can certify Level 4 Instructors.   
Requirements:
  • Must be student certified.
  • Must be certified as a Group Instructor.
  • Must be CPR and First Aid Certified.
  • Test is two hours long and consists of written test and then a demonstration of all level one to five forms as well as
    demonstrate any requested Qigong movement or basics.
  • Must pay a $250.00 fee which covers all testing and the certificate.

Level 6 Senior Instructor:
After completing Level 5 the advanced instructor can begin to learn Level 6.  After successfully completing a progress check
for Level 6 the advanced instructor can apply to become a Senior Instructor. The senior instructor is for active instructors
who have been teaching a minimum of one year. The Senior Instructor can teach the entire Linking Energy Tai Chi program
and certify all levels of students and instructors..
Requirements:
  • Must be student certified in Levels 1-5
  • Must be actively teaching for one year.
  • Must be Group Class Instructor Certified.
  • Must pass a four hour review
  • Must attend a one hour Instructor class training session.
  • Must be CPR and First Aid Certified.
  • Must pay a $400.00 fee which covers all testing and the certificate.
